Times come from OPAP's own draw schedule, so holiday changes are already included.
Why the SAST time changes
The draw is always at 22:00 in Greece, but Greece uses daylight saving time and South Africa does not. So the draw moves by an hour in South Africa twice a year:
| Period | Greek time | SAST |
|---|---|---|
| Last Sunday of March → last Sunday of October | 22:00 EEST | 21:00 |
| Last Sunday of October → last Sunday of March | 22:00 EET | 22:00 |
Next changes: from 25 October 2026 draws are at 22:00 SAST, and from 28 March 2027 at 21:00 SAST.
Holidays: draws move, they are not cancelled
When a draw day falls on a Greek public holiday, OPAP moves the draw - usually to the Wednesday:
- Greek Orthodox Holy Week: the Thursday draw moves to Wednesday, and the Easter Sunday draw is held on Holy Saturday at 16:30 Greek time (15:30 SAST).
- 25 March, 15 August and 28 October: a Tuesday or Thursday draw on these days moves to the Wednesday.
- Christmas Day: the draw is held the day before, on 24 December.
Betting cut-off
In Greece, ticket sales close 30 minutes before the draw. South African bookmakers set their own cut-off for Greece Powerball bets, so always check the closing time on your bet slip.
