How to Play Greece Powerball

Greece Powerball is the name South African bookmakers use for TZOKER (Joker), the official Greek lottery run by OPAP, Greece’s national lottery operator, since 1990.

How the draw works

5 main numbers are drawn from a machine holding balls 1 to 45.
1 Powerball is then drawn from a second machine holding balls 1 to 20. Because it comes from its own machine, the Powerball can be the same as one of the main numbers.
Draws are held every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 22:00 Greek time - 21:00 or 22:00 SAST. See draw times.
The draw is mechanical and broadcast live by OPAP.

How betting on it works in South Africa

You can't buy a Greek ticket from South Africa. Instead, licensed bookmakers offer Greece Powerball as a Lucky Numbers bet (Hollywoodbets calls it “Greece Powa Numbas”):

Choose how many numbers you want to back and pick them from 1 to 45. Some bookmakers also offer bets on the Powerball.
Choose your stake. The payout is your stake multiplied by the bookmaker's fixed odds for that bet.
Place the bet before the bookmaker's cut-off time for that draw.
After the draw, compare your numbers with the latest results.

Odds, bet types and cut-off times differ between bookmakers, and they - not the Greek prize table below - decide what you are paid. Always read the rules on your bookmaker's betting slip.

No. SA Powerball is the South African National Lottery game run by Ithuba. Greece Powerball is the Greek TZOKER draw, which South Africans bet on through licensed bookmakers.

Can I buy a Greek lottery ticket from South Africa?

No. OPAP sells TZOKER tickets in Greece and Cyprus. In South Africa you place a fixed-odds bet on the result with a licensed bookmaker instead.

Is the Greece Powerball draw random?

Yes. It is a live mechanical draw from two ball machines, filmed at OPAP’s studio in Attica and streamed publicly.
